HOW SOLAR WORKS

1. SOLAR PANELS COLLECT SUNLIGHT

Every Solar Panel used in the Nexgen installation process is made up of photovoltaic (PV) cells. When the sunlight hits the solar panels, the PV cells produce direct current (DC) electricity.

2. POWER IS CONVERTED INTO USABLE ELECTRICITY

Each solar panel system has an inverter. The Inverter converts DC electricity into “Alternating Current” (AC) electricity needed to power your home.

3. ELECTRICITY FLOWS INTO YOUR NET METER

Usable electricity flows from your solar panels into the net meter. The net meter is just like a standard utility meter, but it monitors the electricity that you are drawing from the grid and credits you for the excess electricity that your solar panels are producing and sending into the grid.

4. USE THE ELECTRICITY PRODUCED BY THE SUN

After flowing through the net meter, electricity is distributed into your home to power items like your appliances, air conditioner, and even your swimming pool. If your solar panels do not produce enough energy for your needs, additional power is drawn from the grid.

FEDERAL TAX BENEFITS

Thanks to the current Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC), you can receive a 26% federal tax credit if you qualify.

This is money that you can apply back into your solar loan program or pocket the credit for other expenses. The choice is yours!

FAQ’s

When you install a solar energy system on your property, you can save money on your electricity bills and protect yourself against rising electricity rates in the future. How much you save depends on the utility rates and solar policies in your area, but going solar is a smart investment regardless of where you live.

Solar power, like other renewable energy resources, has many environmental and health benefits. Going solar reduces greenhouse gas emissions, which contribute to climate change, and also results in fewer air pollutants like sulfur dioxide and particulate matter that can cause health problems

Net metering is the system that utilities use to credit solar energy system owners for the electricity produced by their solar panels. With net metering, you only pay for the electricity that you use beyond what your solar panels can generate. Net metering policies differ from state to state.

According to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, homes with solar panels sell 20% faster and for 17% more than those without (January 21, 2021).

If you can afford to pay your electricity bill you can afford to go solar. $0-down solar financing options make it easy for qualifying homeowners to start saving on their electricity bills by going solar. Get our free estimate to compare costs and savings for multiple financing options.

In general, solar panels are very durable and capable of withstanding wind and hail. Our systems are warrantied to last for 25 years, but your system should continue to generate electricity for up to 35 years.

Solar panels require minimal or NO maintenance.  Should you have any issues with your solar system we are only a phone call away.

Once you decide to go solar, we design the plans and submit them for permitting immediately. Depending upon your county, the approval will take 2-6 weeks. Once approved, we schedule the installation which typically takes 1-2 days to complete. On average most jobs are finished within 45 days of contract signing.
